looking at love

so now the real reason behind my quick trip home last month. february 15, 2010 marked my parents 35th wedding anniversary. i wanted to do something special, and lucky for me my dear friend sarah is a fabulous photographer. i approached sarah back in october about doing a photo shoot of my parents to document their special day. then i told my mom. my mom is used to me always having these crazy "ideas" and luckily she always goes along with them. she agreed, although hesitant, but asked me to join so that we could get some family photos as well.

sarah is so talented!
at the beginning of the shoot sarah made conversation with my dad, which isn't easily done and brought us all to tears. 35 years is something to be proud of, and sarah focused her pictures on that. which forced my parents to look. to really look. to look at each other. to look at their daughter. to look at the love they have created.
it was a beautiful sight to see.

sarah,
thank you so much. words cannot describe how amazing this experience was. to see my parents smile around each other, and to hold each other was heaven for me. thanks for creating such a comfortable atmosphere in their neighborhood and neighborhood park! these pictures will forever be a part of me and my heart.
love,
april
