let's catch up

I really have no idea where to start. So I'm just going to go down the line of my previous post. Along with a couple of other things that I'm going to add to the list.

Rhode Island run down:
Thurs. 6/18 - This was a long day. My father booked me on a 6am flight. I take the bus to/from the airport via the park and ride near my house. Of course with such an early departure the buses only depart every hour and a half. So I had to catch the bus at 3:40am. Not fun. I flew in Atlanta, to meet my parents 3 hours later. We almost missed our flight to Providence because my father disappeared. And got on the plane with 15 seconds to spare - seriously. Once arrived my Uncle John and Aunt Margaret picked us up to have dinner over at my cousin Charlene's. I was greeted by my 2nd cousin/God daughter Katherine. She is 2 and 1/2 now, so cute and all over the place. I have a post in the works dedicated just to her. She showed me her "big girl" bed, along with jumping, and saying "GO Avalanche". Her father is a New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox Fan, so I gave her a hockey team to cheer for! I got to help put Katherine to bed and see her as a big sister to Joshua. It was a lot of fun to see my mom with the kids. Hopefully one day I'll be able to make her a grandma.

Fri. 6/19 - We spent this day going to Newport. My Uncle drove us all around the mansions, and Newport Bay. We had lunch in Newport. That evening we went to Connecticut to the Mohegan Sun Casino, and Foxwoods. We just walked around. The casino's there are really nice.

Sat. 6/20 - My parents and I went to Martha's Vineyard. The whole time while we were there it was raining. It wasn't raining hard or stormy, it was just rainy. Because of this the ferry ride to Martha's Vineyard was a little bumpy. The total trip to the island was about an hour and 45 minutes. And about 45 minutes in all the kids got sick on the boat. It was gross. I had never seen anything like it. Once on the island we went on a bus tour around the island. It was really nice, and took us all around. It's a beautiful place. The weather was actually good and we got to talk around. In Martha's Vineyard they have gingerbread houses that are beautifully detailed. (pictures to come) We unfortunately didn't stay in Martha's Vineyard very long, but it was nice to be there. I had never been there but am glad we went.

Sun. 6/21 - We spent the day at the Beach House. Charlene and her family were there and made us a fabulous dinner. I spent majority of the day outside with Katherine, playing and taking pictures. It was a lot of fun. I like to think that Katherine and I have a special bond, because we are God daughter and God mother. And of course, I think she is the most beautiful little girl ever. That evening we went to go see "The Proposal". It was a really cute movie. Very funny, and loved Sandra Bullocks outfits!

Mon. 6/22 - On this day my mom and I were suppose to go to Boston. Just my mom and I. A few months ago I started planning different things for my parents and I do while we were on this vacation. One of them was a day trip to Martha's Vineyard, the other was a day trip to Boston. Well my dad said he didn't want to go to Boston. So I planned a trip to Boston with things that my mom and I would enjoy. A Duck Tour, and lots of shopping. I did all of the research on this trip. Printed maps, found places to eat, found coupons, got all the information on the train to go to Boston, everything. Well the night before my dad asked if he could come to Boston with mom and I. I told him it was up to him. ...i couldn't tell him no. Then told my mom that if he came to Boston, I didn't want to go. I can't really be myself around my dad. I can't have fun around my dad. So we didn't go to Boston. I was really upset about it, because I was really looking forward to it. I have been to Boston before, but it was a long time ago, and I would have really liked to spend some time with my mom.
Instead that morning I went to gymnastics with Katherine, then that afternoon we drove to an outlet mall in Massachusetts.

Tues. 6/23 - This afternoon we went on a Lighthouse Tour cruise around Newport Bay. It was a lot fun and a different view of Rhode Island. That night I cooked everyone dinner.

Wed. 6/24 - We spent the morning with Katherine and Joshua. It was really hard to say goodbye. I wish so much that I was closer to Katherine. It breaks my heart to leave her.
When I arrived back at the park and ride to my car, I had a dead battery. I realized I left my light on inside of my car. Of course if I didn't have to be at the park and ride at 3:30am the light would have never been on, and would have never drained my battery. Thankfully my friend Sarah's, brother was in town and was able to come and give me a jump.

Overall it was an ok trip. I am thankful that my Uncle John drove us all around, and that I got to spend a lot of time with Katherine.

My friend having her first baby: While I was flying from Denver to Atlanta, my friend Brisa had her baby girl! Welcome Ilianna Zoe!, born June 18, 2009. I'm looking forward to meeting her in September when I go to Charlotte to visit. I am also looking forward to experiencing seeing Brisa in her new role as Mother. Over the last 2 years I've seen a lot of friends become Mother's. And it is a completely different experience when you see a good, lifelong friend become a Mom. I'm really looking forward to seeing that.

Ed McMahon, Farrah Fawcett, and Michael Jackson. So sad. Incredibly sad. Let me tell you the story about how I heard of Michael Jackson's death. I was driving home from the park and ride to my house to get read to go to the gym(this drive is 5 minutes if that). And I was listening to the radio afternoon show that I normally listen to. And this woman called saying how Michael Jackson was to the 80's what Farrah Fawcett was to the 70's. And I thought, "well that is a weird comparison, since Michael Jackson is alive." And the more I heard on the radio, and was putting together the pieces thinking "did Michael Jackson die?". Once I got home I turned on the TV and saw that my thoughts were confirmed.
Michael Jackson was my first celebrity crush. When I was little I would go to my baby sitter's and their was this group of us kids that were too old for nap time. We would also turn on Michael Jackson and watch his video's. All of us girls would argue about who was going to marry Michael Jackson, while all of the boys were grossed out. I seriously thought I was going to marry Michael Jackson.
Thankfully I think he'll mostly be remembered by all of the positive things he did with his life, his music, and his dancing. I've been watching today all the different tributes to him, and wow, he was such an amazing dancer.

When I came home from Rhode Island my DVR wouldn't even turn on. While I was gone, I guess my DVR just decided to die. And it sucks. I like TV. And all of my recordings from the week and many others are gone. I won't get a replacement until early next week. So I've been stuck up in my bedroom watching TV with commercials.

I have no food in my house. I plan to go grocery shopping tomorrow.

On Monday I'm starting Body For Life. I'm doing it with my friend Tina. I'm extremely nervous about this, because it is a strict food regiment and workout schedule. I'm not too nervous about the workout part, but the food part, I don't know. It is a 12 week program. I hope I survive!

My boss missed me while I was gone. It felt good to know that he missed me. I was also missed at the gym. When I went to the gym on Thursday I saw Kali (the Dance Jam instructor) and immediately asked me "where have you been?".

In other news, I got the sad news that my neighbors are moving to Vermont at the end of July. These are not the neighbors I share a wall with. These are the neighbors I share a drive-way with. I really like them, and I'm sad to see them go.

Last night I went out on a ladies night to Into the Fire, a pottery paint place in Arvada. I met some co-workers their. It was a lot of fun. After painting we went out to this bar that had a live band from Austin, TX. Well the bouncer at the club, got a little bit of a crush ...on me. He was very flirty with me, and very touchy feely with me. And when I get touched a lot by the same person, it takes a lot for me to get used to it because I'm not used to being touched. He seems like a nice a guy, but he is 41, which is a little too old. He asked for my number, and I gave it to him. I won't be heartbroken if he doesn't call, in fact I'll probably be a little relievied.

Ok, I think I'm all caught up now.

Sounds like an eventful trip! Sorry about missing Boston, but the rest of it sounds really amazing.

I saw the Proposal last week too. I LOVED Sandra's outfit when she's dancing in the woods. I told Dave I wanted to buy it and he said no. Sad.

What a vacation! Very neat to read about your adventures. I adore that you're surprised that you were missed by work and the people at the gym. It makes me know (even more) what a wonderful person you are.... not even knowing the impact that you have on people..... just beautiful.

Never change who you are.
