never had i ever

(view pictures from the bottom up)
This past weekend I was in Southern New Mexico for the very first time. I spent my first 22 years in NM, and never had I ever been to the Southern part of my home state. During this little road trip I spent an afternoon at White Sands National Monument. I took a ton of pictures. This place was beautiful. The weather was perfect and the silence was a great stress relief.

my mom making a sand angel
just as the sun was setting the mountains got a beautiful dose of color!

the NM state flower is the yucca. yucca's were everywhere.
the jagged edge of the sand was from a sand storm.

this place is a definite must see!

Oh I love white sands! I haven't been recently, but if the weather cooperates next week, I may take the girls. :-) (my in-laws live maybe 30 minutes from there, and we'll be there for Christmas)

If you ever get the chance, try sledding over there on cardboard or plastic sleds. It's fun.

I've never been there either! What's the deal with that? I've never been to Carlsbad...lots of places. And I lived there for 18 years! Sad. Those pictures are FUN, now I want to go next time I visit. Thanks for sharing!
